The EU essentially is a Christian Democratic creation. But now that there is secularization, the Catholic Spiritual force that kept things together is gone, threatening the stability of Europe. Dawson point continues to be relevant: just as Catholic religion and spirituality built Europe, it is key to keeping it. So Europe\’s present situation validates Dawson\’s points. Pope Benedict 16 made this very point in his Book: What is Christiantiy. Since this is a book review, we only need two sources: The book itself (we need actual page references) and a citation of Pope Benedict 16\’s book.
