Goal: Type a 4-5 page paper exploring the past, present, and future of the “Aging Network” and OAA-funded programs and services. Each section is important, but I’m especially looking to see that Part 3 is the largest and most well-developed part of the paper. This requires that you use a variety of sources to include more than one perspective and recommendation on the future challenges and priorities for “aging services” in the U.S. I would like to see 5 references, too!

Recommended Resources: In addition to the Aging Networks and other readings already on the syllabus, I provided several readings that you can use. Some are longer than others. But, you should know that you do not have to use all of the equally. Some can be used to provide data and factual details, while others can be used at greater length to introduce important discussion, opinions, and arguments (with the use of direct quotes and proper punctuation).

1. Background and Introduction (2 points): How would you explain what the Older Americans Act (OAA) was created to do and how is the “Aging Network” organized and structured to deliver funds and services across the U.S.? Note: You do not need to summarize every program under each title of the OAA.
2. Changes and Amendments (3 points): How has the OAA been amended since it was created in 1965? Name and explain two newer programs and services added after 1980, and describe why you think these programs and services were added (i.e. to address what issues?). Note: Do not include the evidence-based program that you wrote about in your paper. I’m looking services and program in the formal OAA budget.
3. Future Challenges and Needs (10 points): What challenges and priorities lie ahead for OAA funding and the Aging Network? Identify and describe at least two issues for aging services in the future. This can include modifying existing services (e.g. meal programs).
4. APA In-text Citations & References: (5 points): At this point, I expect to see proper APA-style in-text citations and references, with partial-credit for incomplete and improperly formatted attempts. Please see the APA-style guide in Assignments.
